About Us (well actually, me)

Heyyy!

I’m Victoria, the founder of Curriculum & Culture. I’m a book lover, homeschooler, and certified English Language Arts teacher in the state of Texas. I started Curriculum & Culture in 2021 after seeing Black and other homeschooling families of color continually ask for curriculum that wasn’t white-washed. The “big name” curriculum providers seemed to be uninterested in creating resources that were diverse and inclusive, so I decided to create my own.

Curriculum & Culture is for US

  • BIPOC homeschoolers

  • Secular homeschoolers

  • LGBTQ+ homeschoolers

  • Disabled homeschoolers

  • And anyone who believes that homeschool curriculum shouldn’t center whiteness

I’ll be honest with y’all here: I’m not your typical teacher. I don’t care about grades or if my students know how to diagram a sentence. I want my students to fall in love with books and their characters. I want them to see the world and discover themselves through stories. I want them to engage in passionate discussions about books and debate their points like pros. I want them to be fearless enough to let the amazing ideas in their minds become their own stories on the pages of their notebooks. I want them to be able to access and understand ANY subject that they wish because they have skills to read well.

I truly love this work, y’all. And I hope that love shows within the resources that I create.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Curriculum & Culture.

My youngest son and I. It’s so hard to get pictures with both him and my oldest! They are 4 and 6 and run from me a lot.
